Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Gaston Christian Eagles (Gastonia, NC), 52-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Covenant Day upgrades its record to 3-3 on the season. The Lions host Durham Academy (Durham, NC) to play the Cavaliers in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 3. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a record of 2-4. Durham Academy lost 55-42 in their recent non-league bout against Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Eagles play the Hickory Christian Academy Knights (Hickory, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 2. Gaston Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 36-19 non-league loss to Westchester Country Day (High Point, NC).
