In Friday's non-league match, the host Sun Valley Spartans basketball team scored a good 51-34 triumph over the East Mecklenburg Eagles.

In their next game, the Spartans meet the Cannon Cougars (Concord, NC) in a non-league match, on Saturday, December 2. Sun Valley will attempt to move on its 4-1 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 5-0 record after their 58-43 non-league win over Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC).

With the defeat, East Mecklenburg moves to 1-4 on the year. The Eagles host Piedmont (Monroe, NC) to meet the Panthers in a non-league match on Tuesday, December 5. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 2-1. Piedmont won 44-31 in their recent non-league match against East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC)
