In Friday's non-league match, the host Rio Grande City Rattlers basketball team scored a tight 52-45 triumph over the Southwest Dragons.

In their next game, the Rattlers meet the La Joya Coyotes (La Joya, TX) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, December 5. Rio Grande City will attempt to better on its 7-3 season record. The Coyotes enter the match with a 5-14 record after their 61-10 non-league loss to West Oso (Corpus Christi, TX).
