North Carolina High School Basketball - Ashe County nips Mountain Heritage
December 1, 2023: Burnsville, NC 28714 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) and the host Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC), saw Ashe County's basketball squad hold off Mountain Heritage by a count of 46-40.
With the victory, Ashe County upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Newton-Conover (Newton, NC) to play the Red Devils in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 5. The Red Devils come into the challenge with a record of 3-0. Newton-Conover won 48-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Hickory (Hickory, NC)
Next up, the Cougars play the Pisgah Bears (Canton, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 5. Mountain Heritage will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 46-34 non-league win over A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC).
