The Detroit Community Hurricanes basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting Pontiac Academy for Excellence Eagles to 24 in the Hurricanes non-league triumph on Friday.

The Hurricanes now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to River Rouge for a Michigan Metro contest on Saturday, December 18.

The Eagles (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Cornerstone Health & Tech (Detroit, MI). The enter the Freelance contest with a 0-0 record.
