Ponder Lions (Ponder, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Texas City Stingarees (Texas City, TX), 47-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ponder upgrades its record to 4-2 on the season. The Lions travel to Ranchview (Irving, TX) to play the Wolves in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Wolves go into the bout with a record of 3-9. Ranchview lost 48-38 in their recent non-league bout against Sherman (Sherman, TX)

Next up, the Stingarees play the Sharpstown Apollos (Houston, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Texas City will attempt to upgrade on its 8-6 season record. The Apollos go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 69-39 league win over Galena Park (Galena Park, TX).
