Illinois High School Basketball - Maine West knocks off Leyden
December 10, 2024: Franklin Park, IL 60131 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Maine West Warriors (Des Plaines, IL) and the host Leyden Eagles (Franklin Park, IL), observed Maine West's basketball team overcome Leyden by a margin of 38-30.
The Warriors (3-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Niles North (Skokie, IL). The Vikings come into the Central Suburban - North challenge with a 5-1 record. In their last challenge, Niles North defeated Niles West (Skokie, IL), 47-36, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Eagles battle the Hinsdale South Hornets (Darien, IL) in a West Suburban - Gold challenge, on Friday, December 13. Leyden will attempt to better on its 8-1 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 53-40 league win over Berwyn/Cicero Morton (Cicero, IL).
