December 10, 2024: Ripley, MS 38663 Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Myrtle Hawks (Myrtle, MS), 48-45 in a league match.
With the victory, Pine Grove advances its record to 7-5 on the year. The Panthers host Thrasher (Booneville, MS) to meet the Rebels in a non-league match on Friday, December 13. The Rebels enter the match with a record of 10-0.
The Hawks now own a 3-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Byers for a 1A Region 2 match on Friday, December 13. Myrtle will meet a Lions squad coming off a 60-48 league win over Ashland (Ashland, MS). The Lions record now stands at 2-8.
