Texas High School Basketball - Nocona thwarts Newcastle
December 10, 2024: Newcastle, TX 76372 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Nocona Indians (Nocona, TX) and the host Newcastle Bobcats (Newcastle, TX), observed Nocona's basketball team knock off Newcastle by a score of 49-39.
The Indians (7-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Archer City (Archer City, TX). The Wildcats come into the 2A Region II District 9 challenge with a 9-5 record. In their last challenge, Archer City prevailed over Bryson (Bryson, TX), 40-19, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Bobcats encounter the Holliday Eagles (Holliday, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 13. Newcastle will attempt to improve on its 3-7 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 3-8 record after their 64-49 league loss to City View (Wichita Falls, TX).
