In Wednesday's non-league contest, the host Cortez Colts basketball team scored a big 71-39 win over the Shadow Mountain Matadors.

The Colts (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Marcos de Niza (Tempe, AZ). The Padres come into the non-league contest with a 8-1 record. In their last contest, Marcos de Niza smashed Desert Sunrise (Maricopa, AZ), 61-58, in a non-league contest.
