North Carolina High School Basketball - South Mecklenburg held off by Pinecrest

December 11, 2024: Southern Pines, NC 28387

In Wednesday's non-league test, the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) basketball squad got by the visiting South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC), by a score of 80-77.

Next, the Patriots encounter the Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills test, on Friday, December 13. Pinecrest will attempt to improve on its 5-2 season record. The Cavaliers come into the test with a 9-0 record after their 90-36 league win over Scotland (Laurinburg, NC).

The Sabres (3-5) will now prepare for their test against Richmond (Rockingham, NC). The Raiders come into the non-league test with a 1-6 record. In their last test, Richmond was nipped by Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC), 62-58, in a league test.
