In Wednesday's non-league contest, the host Sparrows Point Pointers basketball team scored a close 55-48 triumph over the Franklin Indians.

The Pointers (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Owings Mills (Owings Mills, MD). The Golden Eagles go into the non-league contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Owings Mills was tipped by Carver A&T (Towson, MD), 53-15, in a non-league contest.
