December 12, 2023: Atchison, KS 66002 Atchison Phoenix (Atchison, KS) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Ottawa Cyclones (Ottawa, KS), 70-63 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Atchison upgrades its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Phoenix travel to Sumner Academy (Kansas City, KS) to play the Sabres in a non-league bout on Friday, December 15. The Sabres come into the bout with a record of 1-2. Sumner Academy lost 79-48 in their recent non-league bout against Washington (Kansas City, KS)
Next up, the Cyclones play the Paola Panthers (Paola, KS) in a Frontier bout, on Friday, December 15. Ottawa will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 0-5 record after their 52-20 non-league loss to Eudora (Eudora, KS).
