The Wheeler Eagles basketball team scored 72 points and restricted the visiting Blue Mountain Cougars to 49 in the Eagles non-league victory on Tuesday.

The Eagles now sport a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Biggersville for a 1A Region 1 contest on Thursday, December 14. Wheeler will battle a Lions team coming off a 58-40 league win over Tupelo Christian Prep (Belden, MS). The Lions record now stands at 2-0.

The Cougars (5-8) will now prepare for their contest against Hernando (Hernando, MS). The Tigers come into the non-league contest with a 3-8 record.
