December 12, 2023: Kalamazoo, MI 49006 Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants (Kalamazoo, MI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mattawan Wildcats (Mattawan, MI), 74-56 in a non-league challenge.
With the victory, Kalamazoo Central improves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Maroon Giants travel to Norrix (Kalamazoo, MI) to play the Knights in a Southwestern Michigan - East challenge on Thursday, December 14. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 1-2. Norrix lost 75-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Portage Central (Portage, MI)
Next up, the Wildcats play the St. Joseph Bears (St. Joseph, MI) in a Southwestern Michigan - West challenge, on Thursday, December 14. Mattawan will attempt to improve on its 3-1 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 54-53 non-league win over Gull Lake (Richland, MI).
