Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the North Central Knights (Bassett, NE) and the visiting Burke Cougars (Burke, SD), saw North Central's basketball squad hold off Burke by a tally of 47-46.

With the victory, North Central improves its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Knights travel to St. Mary's (O'Neill, NE) to confront the Cardinals in a D1 District 8 challenge on Friday, December 15. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 5-0. St. Mary's won 63-33 in their recent non-league challenge against Neligh-Oakdale (Neligh, NE)

Next up, the Cougars confront the Winner Warriors (Winner, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 14. Burke will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 61-31 non-league win over Stanley County (Fort Pierre, SD).
