Texas High School Basketball - LaPoynor trounced by Neches
December 12, 2023: Neches, TX 75779 In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Neches Tigers basketball team scored a decisive 53-20 win over the LaPoynor Flyers.
The Tigers (10-5) will now prepare for their test against Martinsville (Martinsville, TX). The Pirates go into the 1A Region IV District 27 test with a 6-8 record. In their last test, Martinsville was trounced by Slocum (Elkhart, TX), 33-30, in a league test.
The Flyers now own a 11-6 record. They play next when they host Rusk for a non-league test on Friday, December 15. LaPoynor will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 42-35 non-league loss to Tyler HEAT (Tyler, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 7-11.
