Virginia High School Basketball - Lakeland ripped by New Kent
December 12, 2023: Suffolk, VA 23434 The New Kent Trojans basketball team scored 73 points and held the host Lakeland Cavaliers to 50 in the Trojans non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Trojans now sport a 4-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grafton for a non-league contest on Wednesday, December 13. New Kent will meet a Clippers team coming off a 83-46 non-league win over Poquoson (Poquoson, VA). The Clippers record now stands at 3-1.
The Cavaliers (1-3) will now prepare for their contest against Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA). The Bruins enter the non-league contest with a 2-3 record. In their last contest, Western Branch was routed by Norfolk Christian (Norfolk, VA), 64-59, in a non-league contest.
