December 12, 2024: Liberty, KY 42539 The Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY) basketball crushed the host Casey County Rebels (Liberty, KY), 83-38 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Lakers now possess a 2-2 record. They play next when they host Metcalfe County for a District 16 bout on Tuesday, December 17. Russell County will play a Hornets team coming off a 61-48 league loss to Clinton County (Albany, KY). The Hornets record now stands at 1-3.
With the loss, Casey County falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Pulaski County (Somerset, KY) to play the Maroons in a District 47 bout on Friday, December 13. The Maroons go into the bout with a record of 1-3. Pulaski County won 74-48 in their recent non-league bout against McCreary Central (Stearns, KY)
