In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Mercer Mustangs basketball team scored a close 58-56 triumph over the Rocky Grove Orioles.

The Mustangs (4-0) will now prepare for their contest against Sharpsville (Sharpsville, PA). The Blue Devils go into the District 10 Region 2 contest with a 1-4 record. In their last contest, Sharpsville was tipped by Sharon (Sharon, PA), 72-31, in a non-league contest.
