The Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) basketball were winner over the visiting Gateway Christian Warriors (Roswell, NM), 54-42 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Skyhawks now possess a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Mescalero Apache for a non-league bout on Friday, December 13. Newcomb will play a Chiefs team coming off a 45-29 non-league win over Escalante (Tierra Amarilla, NM). The Chiefs record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Gateway Christian falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Escalante (Tierra Amarilla, NM) to play the Lobos in a non-league bout on Friday, December 13.
