Texas High School Basketball - Connally toppled by Athens
December 12, 2025: Athens, TX 75751 Athens Hornets (Athens, TX) backers went home thrilled Friday as they saw their basketball team thwart the visiting Connally Cadets (Waco, TX), 74-61 in a non-league contest.
The Hornets (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Palmer (Palmer, TX). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 5-2 record. In their last contest, Palmer topped Connally (Waco, TX), 62-58, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Cadets confront the Fairfield Eagles (Fairfield, TX) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, December 13. Connally will attempt to better on its 5-5 season record. The Eagles enter the match with a 5-2 record after their 53-49 non-league win over Athens (Athens, TX).
