The Mesquite Wildcats basketball squad (Gilbert, AZ), was nudged 36-34 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Salpointe Catholic Lancers (Tucson, AZ)

With the victory, Salpointe Catholic advances its record to 8-0 on the year. The Lancers host Cienega (Vail, AZ) to meet the Bobcats in a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 6. The Bobcats enter the battle with a record of 7-3. Cienega won 65-24 in their recent non-league battle against Mountain View (Tucson, AZ)

The Wildcats now own a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Saguaro for a 4A Desert Sky contest on Tuesday, January 6.
