Virginia High School Basketball - Alleghany overwhelms Parry McCluer
December 12, 2025: Covington, VA 24426 The Alleghany Cougars basketball team scored 57 points and limited the visiting Parry McCluer Fighting Blues to 24 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.
The Cougars now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Waynesboro for a non-league game on Tuesday, December 16. Alleghany will clash with a Little Giants squad coming off a 56-14 non-league loss to Turner Ashby (Bridgewater, VA). The Little Giants record now stands at 0-2.
The Fighting Blues (0-1) will now prepare for their outing against Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA). The Mustangs come into the non-league outing with a 1-3 record. In their last outing, Eastern Montgomery was overwhelmed by Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA), 56-13, in a non-league outing.
