Rogers Mountaineers (Rogers, AR) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Gravette Lions (Gravette, AR), 63-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Rogers upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Mountaineers host Bentonville (Bentonville, AR) to play the Tigers in a 6A West bout on Wednesday, December 21. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 7-1.

Next up, the Lions play the Shiloh Christian Saints (Springdale, AR) in a 4A Region 1 bout, on Friday, December 16. Gravette will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Saints come into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 44-35 non-league win over Mena (Mena, AR).
