Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS) and the visiting Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS), saw Meridian's basketball squad hold off Quitman by a tally of 39-32.

With the victory, Meridian improves its record to 5-0 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Hattiesburg (Hattiesburg, MS) to confront the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 16. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 4-2.

Next up, the Panthers confront the Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 20. Quitman will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Golden Tornadoes come into the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 42-41 non-league win over Forest (Forest, MS).
