December 13, 2023: Vernonia, OR 97064 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Rainier Columbians (Rainier, OR) and the host Vernonia Loggers (Vernonia, OR), saw Rainier's basketball squad overcome Vernonia by a tally of 38-26.
With the victory, Rainier improves its record to 6-0 on the campaign. The Columbians travel to McLoughlin (Milton-Freewater, OR) to confront the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Monday, December 18. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 1-3. McLoughlin won 33-29 in their recent non-league challenge against Catlin Gabel (Portland, OR)
Next up, the Loggers confront the Western Christian Pioneers (Salem, OR) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 15. Vernonia will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a 4-1 record after their 55-42 non-league loss to Bandon (Bandon, OR).
