The Laurel Spartans basketball team scored 85 points and limited the visiting Great Mills Hornets to 62 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Friday.

The Spartans now possess a 3-0 record. They play next when they travel to Bladensburg for a Prince George's County 4A game on Tuesday, December 17. Laurel will play a Mustangs team coming off a 81-41 non-league loss to Lackey (Indian Head, MD). The Mustangs record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Great Mills falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Hornets host La Plata (La Plata, MD) to play the Warriors in a Southern Maryland game on Friday, January 3. The Warriors go into the game with a record of 2-1.
