The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Salina Central Mustangs (Salina, KS) and the host South Cougars (Salina, KS), observed Salina Central's basketball team knock off South by a score of 54-40.

The Mustangs (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Goddard (Goddard, KS). The Lions come into the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail II challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Goddard was knocked off by Buhler (Buhler, KS), 51-46, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Newton Railroaders (Newton, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. South will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Railroaders come into the challenge with a 0-3 record after their 52-43 non-league loss to Thomas More Prep-Marian (Hays, KS).
