The Gaston Day Spartans (Gastonia, NC) basketball were winner over the visiting Mountain View Prep Stars (Spartanburg, SC), 54-37 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Spartans now possess a 5-2 record. They play next when they host Asheville Christian Academy for a non-league bout on Friday, December 20. Gaston Day will play a Lions team coming off a 33-30 league win over Asheville School (Independent) (Asheville, NC). The Lions record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Mountain View Prep falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Stars travel to Legacy Early College (Greenville, SC) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Monday, December 16. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 3-1. Legacy Early College won 47-38 in their recent non-league bout against Wren (Piedmont, SC)
