In Saturday's non-league test, the Grand River Academy (Austinburg, OH) basketball squad got by the host Buchtel Griffins (Akron, OH), by a score of 60-55.

Next, the encounter the SPIRE Academy National SPIRE (Geneva, OH) in a Nike EYBL - East test, on Wednesday, December 17. Grand River Academy will attempt to improve on its 5-5 season record. The SPIRE come into the test with a 1-0 record after their 70-40 non-league win over Warrensville Heights (Warrensville, OH).
