Texas High School Basketball - New Summerfield holds off Hughes Springs
December 13, 2025: Hughes Springs, TX 75656 The New Summerfield Hornets basketball team scored 40 points and limited the host Hughes Springs Mustangs to 36 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Hornets now have a 7-7 record. They play next when they host Oakwood for a non-league game on Tuesday, December 16. New Summerfield will play a Panthers team coming off a 46-38 non-league win over Cross Roads (Malakoff, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 4-9.
With the loss, Hughes Springs falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Ore City (Ore City, TX) to play the Rebels in a non-league game on Tuesday, December 16. The Rebels go into the game with a record of 2-10. Ore City lost 45-24 in their recent non-league game against Cooper (Cooper, TX)
