Michigan High School Basketball - Waldron nips Athens
December 14, 2021: Athens, MI 49011 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Waldron Spartans (Waldron, MI) and the host Athens Indians (Athens, MI), saw Waldron's basketball squad hold off Athens by a count of 39-32.
With the victory, Waldron upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Camden-Frontier (Camden, MI) to play the Redskins in a Southern Central challenge on Thursday, January 6. The Redskins come into the challenge with a record of 0-3. Camden-Frontier lost 67-50 in their recent league challenge against Burr Oak (Burr Oak, MI)
Next up, the Indians play the Jackson Christian Royals (Jackson, MI) in a Southern Central challenge, on Thursday, December 16. Athens will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Royals come into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 85-52 non-league loss to Livingston Christian (Pinckney, MI).
