Texas High School Basketball - Friona knocked off by Christ the King Cathedral
December 14, 2021: Lubbock, TX 79413 The Christ the King Cathedral Golden Lions basketball team scored 42 points and held the visiting Friona Chieftans to 33 in the Golden Lions non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Golden Lions now sport a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wilson for a non-league contest on Friday, December 17. Christ the King Cathedral will meet a Mustangs team coming off a 36-23 non-league loss to Wellman-Union (Wellman, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 6-6.
The Chieftans (8-5) will now prepare for their outing against Meadow (Meadow, TX). The Broncos go into the non-league outing with a 0-7 record. In their last outing, Meadow was topped by Patton Springs (Afton, TX), 43-34, in a non-league outing.
