Utah High School Basketball - Lehi edges Bountiful
December 14, 2021: Bountiful, UT 84010 In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Lehi Pioneers (Lehi, UT) basketball squad nipped the host Bountiful Redhawks (Bountiful, UT), by a margin of 46-40.
The Pioneers (5-1) will now prepare for their outing against Skyline (Salt Lake City, UT). The Eagles go into the non-league outing with a 4-2 record. In their last outing, Skyline got by West (Salt Lake City, UT), 58-33, in a non-league outing.
The Redhawks now own a 4-2 record. They play next when they host Olympus for a non-league outing on Friday, December 17. Bountiful will encounter a Titans squad coming off a 48-35 non-league win over Riverton (Riverton, UT). The Titans record now stands at 6-1.
First Quarter
Tara Smith scored 8 first quarter points to lead the Pioneers to a 15 point quarter. Bountiful scored 12 in the period and the Pioneers take a 3 point lead to start the second period.
Second Quarter
The Pioneers had a hard time in the second quarter and only managed 6 points. The Redhawks scored 9 points and the game is tied at 19 as the first half ended.
Third Quarter
Jamisyn Heaton scored 7 of Lehi's 10 third quarter points. The Pioneers held Bountiful to just 5 points and going into the final period the Pioneers have a 5 point lead.
Fourth Quarter
Maci Wall scored 9 points and Jamisyn Heaton had 6 for all of Lehi's fourth quarter scoring. The Bountiful girls scored 14 points in the quarter and Lehi held on to a 6 point win. Jamisyn Heaton led all players with 19 points and Maci Wall scored 15 in the Lehi win.
