In Thursday's non-league outing, the Downtown Magnets Suns (Los Angeles, CA) basketball squad beat the host Chavez Eagles (San Fernando, CA), by a margin of 55-45.

The Suns (8-1) will now prepare for their outing against Arleta (Arleta, CA). The Mustangs go into the non-league outing with a 4-3 record. In their last outing, Arleta was beaten by Flintridge Prep (La Canada, CA), 78-45, in a non-league bout.

Next up, the Eagles play the Verdugo Hills Dons (Tujunga, CA) in a East Valley bout, on Friday, January 12. Chavez will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record.
