Illinois High School Basketball - Marshall crushes South Vermillion
December 14, 2023: Marshall, IL 62441 Marshall Lions (Marshall, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting South Vermillion Wildcats (Clinton, IN), 52-12 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Marshall upgrades its record to 2-11 on the season. The Lions travel to Mattoon (Mattoon, IL) to play the Greenwave in a non-league bout on Monday, December 18. The Greenwave go into the bout with a record of 10-1. Mattoon won 60-50 in their recent league bout against Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Cloverdale Clovers (Cloverdale, IN) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 16. South Vermillion will attempt to upgrade on its 0-11 season record. The Clovers go into the bout with a 0-11 record after their 62-42 league loss to Brown County (Nashville, IN).
