The Slocum Mustangs basketball team scored 58 points and limited the host Italy Gladiators to 52 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Mustangs now have a 11-8 record. They play next when they travel to Trinidad for a 1A Region III District 24 game on Tuesday, December 17. Slocum will confront a Trojans team coming off a 65-30 non-league loss to Central Texas Christian (Temple, TX). The Trojans record now stands at 0-7.

With the loss, Italy falls to 10-4 on the campaign. The Gladiators host Riesel (Riesel, TX) to confront the Indians in a non-league game on Tuesday, December 17. The Indians go into the game with a record of 3-7. Riesel lost 52-34 in their recent non-league game against Granger (Granger, TX)
