In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Metamora Redbirds basketball team scored a good 59-48 triumph over the Normal University Pioneers.

The Redbirds (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Canton (Canton, IL). The Little Giants go into the Mid-Illini contest with a 3-4 record. In their last contest, Canton was topped by East Peoria (East Peoria, IL), 63-48, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Pioneers confront the Prairie Central Hawks (Fairbury, IL) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, December 17. Normal University will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record.
