Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Burrell holds off Shady Side Academy
December 15, 2023: Lower Burrell, PA 15068 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Burrell Bucs (Lower Burrell, PA) and the visiting Shady Side Academy Bulldogs (Pittsburgh, PA), saw Burrell's basketball squad hold off Shady Side Academy by a tally of 46-41.
With the victory, Burrell improves its record to 5-0 on the campaign. The Bucs travel to Ligonier Valley (Ligonier, PA) to confront the Rams in a WPIAL 3A 3 challenge on Tuesday, December 19. The Rams come into the challenge with a record of 1-4. Ligonier Valley lost 63-34 in their recent league challenge against Deer Lakes (Russellton, PA)
Next up, the Bulldogs confront the Apollo Ridge Vikings (Spring Church, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 3 challenge, on Tuesday, December 19. Shady Side Academy will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 59-24 league loss to Valley (New Kensington, PA).
