North Carolina High School Basketball - Carmel Christian thwarts Mount Zion Christian Academy

The Carmel Christian Cougars (Matthews, NC) basketball knocked off the visiting Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors (Durham, NC), 74-60 in Friday's non-league test.

The Cougars (6-7) will now prepare for their test against Concord Academy (Concord, NC). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 8-6 record. In their last test, Concord Academy went down by Forsyth Country Day (Lewisville, NC), 73-69, in a non-league test.

The Mighty Warriors now own a 5-5 record. They play next when they travel to Word of God Christian Academy for a CAASC Triangle test on Tuesday, December 19. Mount Zion Christian Academy will encounter a Holy Rams squad coming off a 93-69 non-league win over Freedom Christian Academy (Fayetteville, NC). The Holy Rams record now stands at 8-2.
