The Gaston Day Spartans basketball team scored 89 points and held the visiting Westchester Country Day Wildcats to 61 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Friday.

The Spartans now sport a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Trinity Academy for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 19. Gaston Day will meet a Tigers team coming off a 58-45 non-league loss to Cary Academy (Cary, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 5-4.

The Wildcats (2-6) will now prepare for their contest against Salem Baptist Christian (Winston-Salem, NC). The Vikings enter the non-league contest with a 0-8 record. In their last contest, Salem Baptist Christian was routed by Calvary Christian (King, NC), 89-48, in a non-league contest.
