Texas High School Basketball - Gunter can't hold off Slidell
December 15, 2023: Slidell, TX 76267 The Slidell Greyhounds basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the visiting Gunter Tigers to 58 in the Greyhounds non-league victory on Friday.
The Greyhounds now sport a 12-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Forestburg for a 1A Region III District 22 contest on Tuesday, December 19. Slidell will battle a Longhorns team coming off a 58-57 non-league win over Non Varsity Opponent (, ). The Longhorns record now stands at 7-5.
The Tigers (8-4) will now prepare for their contest against Blue Ridge (Blue Ridge, TX). The Tigers come into the 3A Region II District 11 contest with a 12-4 record. In their last contest, Blue Ridge edged Bland (Merit, TX), 74-29, in a non-league contest.
