Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets (Roanoke Rapids, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Southern Nash Firebirds (Bailey, NC), 55-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Roanoke Rapids upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Yellowjackets travel to Northern Nash (Rocky Mount, NC) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 5-1.

Next up, the Firebirds play the J.F. Webb Warriors (Oxford, NC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 20. Southern Nash will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record.
