December 16, 2021: Aledo, IL 61231 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL) and the visiting Orion Chargers (Orion, IL), saw Mercer County's basketball squad hold off Orion by a tally of 44-38.
With the victory, Mercer County improves its record to 4-7 on the campaign. The Golden Eagles travel to Erie-Prophetstown (Erie, IL) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Monday, December 27. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 0-5. Erie-Prophetstown lost 54-30 in their recent non-league challenge against Annawan (Annawan, IL)
Next up, the Chargers play the East Moline United Panthers (East Moline, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 18. Orion will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 3-5 record after their 72-45 league loss to Geneseo (Geneseo, IL).
