Alpena Wildcats (Alpena, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Brimley Bays (Brimley, MI), 65-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Alpena upgrades its record to 1-2 on the season. The Wildcats host Hillman (Hillman, MI) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league bout on Monday, December 19. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Hillman won 70-25 in their recent non-league bout against Rogers City (Rogers City, MI)

Next up, the Bays clash with the St. Mary Eagles (Lake Leelanau, MI) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 17. Brimley will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 4-0 record after their 68-34 non-league win over Buckley (Buckley, MI).
