Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX) and the host Copperas Cove Bulldawgs (Copperas Cove, TX), saw La Vega's basketball squad hold off Copperas Cove by a tally of 60-57.

With the victory, La Vega improves its record to 9-5 on the campaign. The Pirates host Mexia (Mexia, TX) to confront the Black Cats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 20. The Black Cats come into the challenge with a record of 12-3.
