Louisiana High School Basketball - East Ascension holds off Washington-Marion
December 16, 2022: Gonzales, LA 70737 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) and the visiting Washington-Marion Charging Indians (Lake Charles, LA), saw East Ascension's basketball squad nip Washington-Marion by a margin of 49-44.
The Spartans (5-3) will now prepare for their test against Capitol (Baton Rouge, LA). The Lions go into the non-league test with a 2-7 record. In their last test, Capitol was tipped by McKinley (Baton Rouge, LA), 58-31, in a non-league test.
The Charging Indians now own a 4-4 record. They play next when they travel to Ville Platte for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 20. Washington-Marion will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 74-72 non-league loss to Oakdale (Oakdale, LA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-4.
