The New Smyrna Beach Barracudas (New Smyrna Beach, FL) basketball knocked off the visiting Matanzas Pirates (Palm Coast, FL), 65-53 in Friday's league test.

The Barracudas (6-0) will now prepare for their test against Atlantic (Port Orange, FL). The Sharks go into the non-league test with a 2-5 record. In their last test, Atlantic notched a victory over Halifax Academy (Daytona Beach, FL), 64-54, in a non-league test.

The Pirates now own a 4-6 record. They play next when they travel to Deltona for a non-league test on Saturday, December 17. Matanzas will encounter a Wolves squad coming off a 63-52 non-league win over University (Orange City, FL). The Wolves record now stands at 4-2.
