New Mexico High School Basketball - Portales holds off Silver
December 16, 2022: Silver City, NM 88061 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Portales Rams (Portales, NM) and the host Silver Fighting Colts (Silver City, NM), saw Portales's basketball squad hold off Silver by a tally of 55-49.
With the victory, Portales improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, NM) to confront the Elks/Elkettes in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 17. The Elks/Elkettes come into the challenge with a record of 8-2. Pojoaque Valley won 38-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Santa Fe Indian (Santa Fe, NM)
Next up, the Fighting Colts confront the Las Cruces Bulldawgs (Las Cruces, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 20. Silver will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record.
